The Ramblers have organised the seasonal Festival of Winter Walks and this year the festive activities start as early as Christmas Day and continue right through to the 3rd January 2010, offering free guided walks all over the country.
The festival has the support of TV presenter and Adventurer Ben Fogle, who is urging families to leave their comfortable armchairs and enjoy some good food and fresh air this season, to help organise your walk Ben has shared some exclusive seasonal tips.
Winter Walks in Wales
Walks organised throughout Wales range from the Boxing Day Breather to the Christmas Pud Buster, many of the which are short and family friendly, although there’ll be plenty of yomps for the seasoned hiker too.
Take a look at the map of festival walks or see the full list of walks to find out what is going on in your area.
This year the walks have been sponsored by Baxters who believe the unsung festive hero has to be Boxing Day, and have launched a Best Boxing Day website in support .
